Brief Description of Role & Responsibilities
The project aim is to deliver technical information to the client to ensure that they have knowledge of the facility to ensure that the it can be maintained, operated and decommissioned safely and efficiently. This is achieved by taking information generated during design and construction as well as knowledge gained from the Project teams and suppliers and presenting it in a way that can be easily used and referenced by the end user.
This information will be presented in Operation & Maintenance Manuals including maintenance task sheets, spares and asset information schedules, manufacturers literature, and other supporting deliverables.
The Handover /Technical Author will be responsible for the coordination, management and oversight of the preparation of these documents. They will provide assistance to the various sub-projects and suppliers to ensure that they deliver handover information in line with the client’s requirements and procedures. This will include authoring and compiling documents where necessary and therefore requires technical understanding across a wide range of disciplines. A key responsibility will be to ensure that documentation is both technically and quality compliant by facilitating reviews by competent individuals within the team and then the wider maintainer/operator stakeholders.
Initially the role will include working with the client to understand project delivery requirements, creating templates and guidance notes, then ensuring the project teams and suppliers understand the deliverables. A range of documents will be provided covering project wide asset information and the role involves compiling technical information from all sites and authoring base documents.
The role is responsible for regular reporting of progress and content compliance up to acceptance by the client.
Functionally reporting to the Flo Quality Manager.
