Engagement Manager
Job description
Engagement Manager - London
Tideway is upgrading London’s infrastructure by building the new Super Sewer; a 25 kilometre tunnel running up to 65 metres below the River Thames. This will ensure London’s sewage system can cope with the demands of the 21st century and beyond. Currently tens of millions of tonnes of untreated sewage overflows into
the River Thames every year and the Super Sewer will help to tackle this problem. Alongside this vital work to clean up the River we are creating three acres of new public spaces for all of London to enjoy. Our ambition is to reconnect London with the River Thames and this role will play a key part in helping us achieve this.
We are one of The Times Top 50 Employers for Women, a Stonewall Diversity Champion, a proud signatory of the ‘Ban the Box’ campaign, and a Disability Confident Committed Employer. We pride ourselves on providing employment for disabled employees, providing support and adjustments during the recruitment process, and wherever needed in the working environment. We offer a guaranteed interview scheme for suitably qualified disabled applicants.
Reporting to the Head of Engagement within the External Affairs team, the Engagement Manager will lead Tideway’s relationships with a range of key stakeholders to support the successful delivery of the Tideway project including its legacy for London.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about improving London’s environment and understand the importance of building respectful and empathetic relationships with stakeholders. Working as part of a team of two engagement managers and in collaboration with our contractor communications teams and other delivery partners, you will have a portfolio of responsibilities spanning our 24 construction sites and legacy activities.
You will be a confident and experienced communicator with a proven track record of delivering innovative engagement strategies with a broad range of audiences. You will play a key part in engaging with our neighbours, championing the principles of good community relations and bringing Tideway’s story to life. You will inspire confidence internally and externally by driving performance improvement and finding new solutions to problems. You will be able to identify reputational risks and advise on handling strategies. You will have experience of working in a high profile context and have high levels of personal accountability and integrity.
The successful candidate will bring their experience of stakeholder management, engagement strategies and communication skills to help us achieve our vision. Adaptable and flexible - whether it is leading community meetings, hosting site visits or presenting to stakeholders – we are looking for candidates who are happy to take a leading role in engaging with all audiences.
What we offer you
• Private Medical Insurance
• Bonus
• Matched Pension Scheme up to 10% of salary
• 30 days leave in addition to public holidays
• 5 days of paid volunteering
• Life Insurance
• Season Ticket Loan
