The Thames Tideway Tunnel will be a major new sewer to prevent the tens of millions of tonnes of untreated sewage which discharges into the tidal River Thames every year. It is one of the largest construction projects of its type in Europe. The project involves construction at 24 sites across London and the Tunnel is now 50% complete.
At this exciting time we are looking for a Regulation Manager who will support the Director of Strategy and Regulation to manage the regulatory aspects of the construction and operation of the Thames Tideway Tunnel (TTT) project.
The responsibilities for this role are:-
Regulatory Management
To support the Director of Strategy and Regulation in managing the company’s regulatory aspects of the construction and operation of the TTTTo sustain the credibility of the company with Ofwat, Defra and other relevant organisationsTo provide expert policy support and pro-actively identify and pursue opportunities for influencing regulators and governmentTo help influence performance and behaviours to support regulatory complianceTo provide economic and regulatory advice to the business supported by quantitative and qualitative analysis as appropriateTo manage business responses to regulatory requirements including reporting, revenue submissions, complaints, enforcement etc.To ensure regulatory responses are reliable, accurate and completeTo support the management of regulatory variations in the responsibilities for the company and Thames Water Utilities Limited (TWUL)To provide up to date communication and advice to senior management on regulatory matters
Commercial and Contract Management
To contribute to the management of contracts between TWUL and the company and various parties from a regulatory standpoint and to ensure that their regulatory implications for the company are well understood.

Experience
Experience of UK economic regulation, preferably in the Water SectorExperience of stakeholder engagementExperience in the development of regulatory submissions e.g. business plans, consultation responses

Education and qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (economics degree desirable) and preferably a relevant post-graduate qualification, or significant relevant work experience.
