Must have recognised experience within the construction sector (materials management), and responsible for leading the design and construction related deliverables (specifications, material compliance reports, repair procedures, testing procedures). Role to include close liaison with the designer, our construction teams and the Project Manager.
To be proficient with documentation creation and completion in line with both project and client standards. To have a clear vision of project materials strategy in terms of design coordination, coordination of specifications, testing, procuring and site support; to self-manage the completion of the associated deliverables.
To assist with the management of suppliers with any technical related matter. To provide technical assistance to project site team and to be recognised as the materials accountable point of contact leading the materials team.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• To provide expertise regarding the overall project materials scope
• To review Durability Assessment Reports and Specifications issued by our Designers and coordinate PM acceptance ensuring the Works Information requirements are fulfilled
• Management of Materials team (1 individual)
• Assist commercial and procurement teams when required
• To oversee any tests related to materials
• Develop concrete mixes with suppliers so the design requirements are satified
• To manage and coordinate the Material Compliance Report process supporting the construction teams ensuring all materials are accepted by FLOJV and the PM
• To manage all project commissioning activities in accordance with the contract, schedule and budget.
• To support required duties within the Engineering team with minimal supervision.
• To assist the project team in their production of ‘as-built’ documentation and the Health & Safety File.
Special requirements:
• A strong understanding of durability requirements related to concrete and polymer materials
• Appropriate skills at resolving complex issues through collaboration.
• Understanding of Project Management and Procedures.
• General computer skills, Microsoft suite.
• Ability to resolve complex problems in a timely manner.
• Analytical / organizational skills.
Experience and Qualifications
10+ Years (desired but not essential)
Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a Technical or related field.
(Relevant experience can substitute for a degree)
